Welcome to Lakeside Farm Puppies!

Lakeside Farm Puppies raises healthy, socialized Mini Aussiedoodles (a hybrid of the Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, resulting in a wonderful low-shedding family member), as well as occasional litters of AKC Mini Australian Shepherds (Aussies). We are centrally located in Illinois, meaning we can quickly ship to just about anywhere in the US.

Please take a few minutes to explore our website for more information and to see our Mini Aussiedoodles.

Our goal is to produce healthy and well socialized puppies that will fit your needs. Our Mini Aussiedoodles combine the sensitive, non-shedding Poodle with the intelligent Australian Shepherd, resulting in an adorable, family-friendly puppy with hypoallergenic qualities.

If you’re interested in adding one of our sweet puppies to your family, visit our Puppies page to see who’s available. You can also learn more About Us, or see pictures of our puppies’ Parents. Click here to view some of our Previous Litters.

About Our Mini-Aussiedoodles

Mini Aussiedoodles are friendly, affectionate, loyal to their family, very smart, trainable, and great companion animals. They usually have lots of energy and get along well with children and other animals. They will do best in a home with a yard, but with proper exercise and lots of attention, these dogs can adapt to more confined living conditions as well. Plenty of exercise and lots of loving attention are important to keep your puppy/dog healthy and happy. Daily walks and a place where they can engage in active play time should be sufficient.

Aussiedoodles may occasionally inherit a herding instinct from the Australian Shepherd side of the family and attempt to “herd” family members. Early and consistent training can curb any of these tendencies. The Aussie’s loyal nature also makes it more difficult for an older dog to adjust to a new home. However, we have adopted older dogs and it worked out fine, but it did take some patience, time, and lots of love and attention. Proper socialization and consistent training at a young age are crucial in producing an adult dog that is well mannered and well behaved. So, be sure to set aside some time each day to spend time with your puppy. It will be well worth your time and efforts!

Testimonials

I’m not sure if you remember but I adopted a toy Aussiedoodle (Reese and Olan’s litter) named Kit Kat from you back in May. He was born March 17th so today is his 6 month birthday!!! Kit Kat is now named Cairo and he is full of energy! He knows how to fetch, sit, lay down, speak (loud bark), whisper bark, clean up (he puts his toys away) and go to bed (he
lays down for bed time). I have been teaching him how to fetch by catching a rubber frisbee mid air, he’s still learning. He also still has a few indoor accidents here and there so it took a bit to get him away from using a puppy pad. He also loves car rides and socializing
with other dogs.

I just wanted to contact you with an update and let you know that Cairo is my first dog and he’s perfect for me. Attached are a few pics that I wanted to share! The last picture with the green scarf is after his most recent haircut!

I cannot thank you enough for the smooth process, shipping of Cairo and just the details and information provided. I know I had a lot of questions during the adoption process and I appreciate your patience. I hope all is well.

Stay safe,
Lyric & Cairo

We wanted to send a photo and again thank you for helping us find an amazing dog.  Taffy (we kept her name) is very loved.  She plays hard about 8 hours a day and sleeps wherever she wants.  We’re off leash training her as we did our chihuahua and she’s loving it.

-Best regards,
The Lee’s.

“Hi Josh, Joyce and family!

Our family has truly been blessed since you helped us bring Allie (now Rosie) into our lives!  I’m not sure there are enough words to describe how much we love her, nor enough ways to thank you for all of the love, care, attention and initial training you provided to Rosie before she joined our family.

We are constantly being complimented on and asked about how she has such a sweet, friendly demeanor – being incredibly friendly around children, other dogs and anyone she meets.  We’re confident it’s a mix between her genetics, your beginning care and our family environment.

I’ve honestly never experienced such a high-energy, snuggly, smart dog!  Within just a few weeks she was fully potty-trained using bells to ring (and we crate trained her from day one).  She learns names and commands very quickly and is an excellent travel buddy in the car.  What’s especially wonderful is the positive impact she’s had on our children.  Rosie is their first dog and she became their best friend the moment she came home.

And let’s not forget you!  From your engaging communications to welcoming our multiple visits to helping start us off with what we needed to your outstanding care of all of Lakeside’s litters – it truly starts and continues with you!

I’ve attached a few pictures you can share. We look forward to staying in-touch with you and wish you and your family a blessed year! ”

All our best,

The Salamondra Family

Attached are a few photos of our pup (Oliver)(Art) that we got from you over a year ago!

Can’t tell you enough how happy we’ve been with him. He’s the smartest dog I know – was extremely easy to train, and he fit into our lifestyle perfectly! Always ready to go for a walk/run and equally ready to hang out on the couch or cuddle up for a nap.

And of course y’all were super helpful throughout the process and made pickup/drop-off easy by coming up to the Chicago area.If our apartment was any bigger we would definitely consider getting another pup!

Here are some recent pics…. Please feel free to give any of your prospective buyers my information for a referral or if they have any questions about how this breed gets along with an established dog in the family… my white dog is a little territorial… but they quickly became best friends and are inseparable  Adrian naturally lets my older male dog be the alpha…

All the best!

“Hi Josh
Sent you a few pictures. We will definitely say that Austin is probably the kindest sweetest dog either of us have ever known. So cuddly and sweet to us. We couldn’t be happier!”

“Milo is now 18 weeks and 17 pounds!  He is doing great and is a wonderful addition to our family.  Milo is a sweet natured pup and gets along well with our other Aussiedoodle pup, Ollie. They were immediately fast friends and playing from the moment Milo arrived home. It was an easy transition from one to two.

Thanks for the great pup!” Niki

“I wanted to send this picture of Ivy. She’s 6 months old now and we love her so much. She is the happiest dog. She loves playing with Sammy our Yorkie. They are the bestest of friends.  My husband works from home right now and I’m a nurse. When I come home she is so excited to see me. She loves when people visit, which is few and far between because of COVID. Oh and she loves the snow!”   Christie F

We renamed Hoyt as Ziggy and he is now almost 7 months old and is 13 lbs. He has been an incredible addition to our family and has been fully potty trained for a couple of months now!  Thank you so much! ”  Shelby K

“Thought I’d send you a couple of pictures of Loki when he was 4 months and now. Loki is the absolute sweetest puppy we’ve ever had, and we just adore him!! He is cuddly, playful and just so much fun ❤️ He’s also very smart and knows several tricks. So thankful we have our little cutie!! Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a happy 2021!!”The Fenwicks

“Jazz is doing awesome and has lots of energy and is super smart. She loves to watch football on TV and barks at the TV too whenever there is a dog on.  She has quite the personality.  And she is sassy too (lol) she actually talks back if I yell at her…. everybody gets a kick out of it …

Jazz  is my little buddy. We go everywhere together!”

“Hi Joyce and Josh.

I just wanted to let you know how much we are enjoying Ozzie/Frosty. You and your girls must interact with your puppies a lot, because he immediately felt comfortable with everyone in our house and follows the kids around. He has a fantastic personality and just loves being in the middle of everything. He is also sleeping through the night in a crate perfectly. We think he’s just adorable! And, yes, that’s him in a baby carrier. We took he and our other dog on a 2.5 mile walk today. We didn’t think he’d make it so we brought the carrier. He ended up walking the whole way, though!! We are just so impressed with him! He is exactly the dog we were looking for. The only problem we are having is that two of my kids are fighting over him constantly because they each want to hold him all the time. ? Thank you” –The DeMeritts

Here’s Bella (aka Cookie) checking out the plants in our backyard. She traveled well yesterday. She’s doing very well. Took her for a vet visit today. She’s in great health. Thanks again for helping us adopt her.”–Kip S.

“Hello Raber Family –
Just wanted to send you a picture of Ernie (new name is “Bear”. He loves living on the Intracoastal waterway and my parents think he is the greatest thing since grandchildren!! He is potty trained, crate trained and learning new tricks. He loves all people, other dogs and doesn’t bark at all. His eyes and coloring are just beautiful and everyone stops to ask about him. Thanks for sharing your special puppy with our family. When I am ready for my own dog, you will be the first person I contact. God bless you all!!”
–Robin

“Coco has been such a joy — everyone wants to take her home. In lieu of that (I’d never give her up!), they want to know where I got her. So, of course, I let them know. They want a puppy that looks just like her to which I just laugh as all puppies (as humans) are different. At any rate, I appreciate you so much for the wonderful job you do in breeding and caring for the puppies. I could attach dozens of pictures, but I’ll have to just pick a few.”–Pat L

“I’m sending photos of Cory and the kids – he’s really gotten big ! I thought you might want to put some of the photos on your website. Would you believe I’ve taught him to stand on his hind legs and “dance”. He’s so smart!”–The Sekhons

“Echo is so cute. The girls changed his name to Charlie Cole. The girls had to go on a scavenger hunt to find him under the Christmas tree. Our older dog Jackson who is a rescue dog likes him as well. Bless you and your family.” –Brandy Franklin

“As a first time dog owner, I was worried about bringing home a puppy I had never met before, but Ziggy is everything Josh and Joyce said he was and more! He is sweet, cuddly, playful, smart and such a happy and confident little guy. He is loved by everyone he meets and I get so many compliments on his good looks and temperament. He was so easy to train and knows several tricks (sit, down, shake, give kisses, play dead, spin, high five, wave and more!) and even started ringing a bell to go potty the very first week I brought him home (at approximately 10 weeks old). He absolutely loves to play with other dogs and shows no fear around them, even with the largest dogs at his daycare center. When we’re at home, he never leaves my side. I call him my little shadow because he follows me everywhere. He’s almost 8 months old now and still has a lot of puppy energy, but he also loves to just relax on the couch next to me when I’m watching tv. He truly is the best dog ever and I couldn’t be more in love!”–Jenna Ellingson

“Winston is such a great little dog.  We could not love him more.  He is buddies with our two cats, and we cannot go anywhere with him without stopping traffic.  People love his eyes and personality.  He is about 10 lbs.  He even has his Mother’s dark stripe markings.  The first picture below is from the day we brought him home and the last is one of our latest pictures of him.” –Karen and Steve Styza

“Hi Raber family. Just wanted to touch base to let you know Lola (we renamed her. Hope you don’t mind) is doing great and is so loved. We are getting. Assistance with her training. Trainer loves her personality and is really impressed with her intelligence as well. Our older children who are at home are absolutely smitten with her. It’s been quite amazing and she’s simply gorgeous and fun to have.”–Eric Maidenberg.

“We can happily say our girl Poppy (Sapphire) is growing and learning tricks everyday. She has such a sweet and energetic side. She makes our family. 🙂 We could not love her more!”–Coy, Amber, Libby, Lance, Leah, Tucker, and Poppy H.

“Thank you Josh and Joyce for our beautiful Mocha! She is a joyful addition to our family. Not only is she beautiful, loving and super soft… she is also SUPER SMART! At 4 months old, she already rings a bell when she wants out to go potty. She quickly learns household routines and tricks like sit and giving us her paw to “shake.” She has a gentle nature and always loves to play with our 9 and 10 year old boys. We hope to get her a little brother or sister from your farm sometime soon!”–The Bhasins
